I Am a Dreamer Too

I Am a Dreamer Too
The heat of the morning sun
Devours my flesh
As hot perspiration boils out of its furrows
It's been a long busy day
But the sweat sweeping across my brow
Is still fresh

Tears are in my eyes
When I sighted that little bird
Singing across the blue sky

Little bird of destiny
That outwits the falconer
And survived the guns of wily hunters
Will you bear my burdens
On your flapping wings?
Will you sing to the denizens of the future
That I am a dreamer too?
Sitting on the couch of patience
Waiting for the dawn of better days
