A Woman Living
with a Purpose
Far More than
Rubies
“Honour her for
all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city
gate”
Proverbs 31: 31
Women
have always been seen as being weak and frail, so the sociopolitical structure
of today seeks to suppress the female folks. When a woman is not searching the
mind of God to understand the purpose of her life, she will be cowed into great
irrelevance or at best settle for mediocrity in this present dispensation. The
inspired words of King Lemuel in Proverbs 31: 10 states clearly that “a wife of noble character who can find? She
is worth far more than rubies.” He goes on to describe a woman who
understands commerce, leadership, relationship, religion etc with an impeccable
authority. Have you not heard and read of women who stunned the world so much
that their tracks are there, unwashed by the wave of time? Deborah, Ruth,
Elizabeth, Esther, Mary, Rebecca, etc are few bible names you must have likely heard
of. These were women who took their time to seek the face of God for direction
for life and ministry. “Trust in the LORD
with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all your
ways, acknowledge the LORD and He shall direct your path” (Proverbs 3: 5
-6). When you don’t go the extra length
to know why God has called you forth from your mother’s womb, you might be reconfigured
to fit into the mediocre structure of the world. Sadly, the world is peopled
with women, thousands of thousands of women, who don’t know where they belong
in the things of God. Where do you belong? What will God have you do? Do you
know your purpose in God? If you don’t know your purpose, abuse of the
treasures God has deposited in you is inevitable and you know what that means? It
means settling for less or nothing. It is not the plan of God for you to limit
yourself to the roles that is culturally designed for you by the reason of your
gender. You should be able to live beyond that and move from the ordinary to
the extraordinary. What will God have you do? Where will he need you? Perhaps
you are just another Deborah in politics, or another Tabitha in business? It is
beautiful, too beautiful for words, to know where you belong. Why not bow your head in prayer and ask God
for grace to understand your purpose before it is too late and unnecessary? The
scars of a purposeless life are great and the more a woman stays outside the
will of God, the deeper she sinks into the quagmire of sin and emptiness. The
world is cruel and unfair to women who don’t know their place in God. This is indeed
a chaotic age of lawlessness, the era of terrible inordinate cravings, the
dispensation of moral decadence where men are becoming beastly in their
thinking and not just willing to suppress the female folks but also to oppress
and victimize them. Mothers are made
into murderers and women are wounded. If you don’t decide your fate in God when
you ought to, the world will design for you a shadow of all God has apportioned
for you before the world was made.
Refuse to lead an empty life, renounce a low and
unprogressive lot, stand your ground and establish your place in Christ, become
the woman God wants you to be and to get all of this, it all begin with you.
You are the only one that can stop yourself from what God has purposed for you.
Make up your mind that until the will of God is done in your life, you will not
settle for less.
Let us pray: Father, I am grateful for this timely
message you have sent my way to grant me direction for life and destiny.
Please, help me to find my purpose in you and give me the enabling grace to
fulfill it.
