Olatuja Oloyede: Thinking About Love
- November 11, 2016
Love....sing to me your songs again
You have been the mystery of ages
You have weakened the noble minds
And hurried giants to their early graves
I see you in the eyes of the gods
I smell you in the hut of the enchantress
You were there at the dawn of time
You inspired the fall of Eden
You are the blindness of the griots
The darkness of the shrine
The silence of the deep
The weakness of the mighty
Could it be you
that caused Samson his fall?
That cost Romeo his life?
That cost young lovers their fears
And old lovers their tears
I saw joint hands dance down the lane
The realm of love is a fascinating one
A labyrinth of uncertain destiny
Some lead to hell and some to heaven
Take heed as you travel down that way
You may be walking straight into Ur doom
Be careful when you go through the vast territory of love
Love is not blind so use your head.
