Child, I Admire Your Smile by Olatuja Oloyede

NOT FOREVER
Child, I admire your smiles
But I fear it won't last long
For in life you will be sometimes sad
Those golden sunshines won't be there forever
One day you will cry like you are now
And none will be worried
Your mother may be dead or weakened by age
Your father may be too far to help
Your siblings too will be grown ups
All busy fixing their own lives
If you are lucky to have friends,
They may never be the true ones
And even when they are true
They may be blind to see exactly where you ache
Then you will understand the real meaning of life
That in the midst of all the loves and cares
Man is always a lonely being
